Here’s a golden opportunity. The actor Rick Schroder has placed his Malibu beach house back on the market for $5,375,000.
Built in 2005, the home was on the market back in 2018 for $5.5 million, but never sold.
Purchased in 2007 for $5.1 million, the beach bungalow first came on the market in 2016. That was at around the same time the actor and his former wife, the interior decorator Andrea Schroder, were splitting up. The marvelous beach retreat has also been available for rent at $30,000 a month.
Now, with the summer months almost upon us, the cute cottage may tempt a buyer looking for an easy escape outside Los Angeles.
With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, the modestly-sized 1,250-square-foot abode comes with 42 feet of ocean frontage.
The “quintessential” beach house is located on Las Flores Beach and is being offered fully furnished. It features a bright and open floor plan with a living room, fireplace, high-beamed ceilings, and hardwood floors.
One windowed corner has built-in seating fitted snugly with a row of dark-blue pillows. Opposite the cooking area is a cozy dining nook that looks out to the water.
The home has dual-level decks and steps that lead down to the beach, as well as an outdoor dining and lounging space that extends the living area outdoors.
Inside, the open chef’s kitchen includes high-end appliances, granite counters, and a breakfast bar with stool seating. Through French doors, a deck with lounge chairs and two bamboo swings offers ocean views.
Downstairs, the master suite includes a renovated bathroom with a steam shower. The newly added third bedroom and two more bedrooms all open to a large beach deck with a jacuzzi.
The locale is close to markets, restaurants, and the beaches of Malibu.
Schroder, 50, became a star as a kid in the 1980s sitcom “Silver Spoons.” As an adult, the Brooklyn native added “NYPD Blue” and “24” to his résumé.
