The late-night talk show host Lilly Singh recently scored a sweet deal on a large, brand-new contemporary home in Studio City, CA, in the hills of the San Fernando Valley.
In addition to her network TV gig on NBC, Singh is also a YouTube superstar, and she made herself right at home diving into content creation in her new pad.
The 6,361-square-foot home was priced at $5,249,000 when it was completed in 2019, and Singh managed to score quite a deal. She shelled out $4,135,000 and used it as the backdrop for the announcement of the second season of her late-night show, “A Little Late With Lilly Singh.”
Singh made especially good use of her backyard, with its California room (indoor/outdoor room), grassy yard, outdoor kitchen and barbecue, sport court with a basketball standard, and especially the pool with a waterfall and elevated spa.
She also shot some scenes in her new chef’s kitchen, which includes chic walnut cabinets, a huge island with a wraparound breakfast bar, double ovens, and deluxe appliances.
Of course, the home offers Singh plenty of other places to shoot (and live). It’s bright and filled with light, thanks to an abundance of oversized and clerestory windows.
It has wood floors throughout, custom cabinetry, and an intriguing modern staircase topped by a gallery that overlooks the wide-open great room.
All told, the home has five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms. The master suite is impeccable, with vaulted, wood-beamed ceilings, a fireplace, an outdoor deck, and a spacious walk-in closet for Singh’s extensive wardrobe. There’s also a spalike master bathroom ideal for perfecting her makeup and hair.
There are four fireplaces in total, one in the master bedroom, one in the living room, one in the indoor/outdoor California room, and the fourth on the lower level, in the lounge area.
Other luxe amenities include an elevator, a separate office, and a giant recreation area featuring a bar, home theater, and game room with pool table.
For all its remarkable features, the listing agent and star of “Selling Sunset,” Jason Oppenheim, notes, “The most impressive aspects of the house are its design and craftsmanship. It’s warm and inviting, and at the same time very sexy.”
He notes that the place is tailor-made for Singh’s shows, and that the location is another main attraction.
“Located on the end of a quiet cul-de-sac behind private gates, it’s perfect for a celebrity, as well as someone who wants to work from home in peace and serenity. It really is a house where you just don’t want to leave,” Oppenheim says.
Singh, 31, has been active on YouTube for over a decade. She has racked up 17.8 million subscribers on her two primary channels, which have amassed more than 3.7 billion lifetime views.
Last year, Forbes named her one of the 40 most powerful people in comedy. She is the only openly LGBTQ+ person, as well as the first person of Indian descent, to host an American major broadcast network late-night talk show.
